In Part 1: Jason asks Mark Lewis and Jon Collins about the value of wide area network optimisation, and the challenges in enterprise networking that it can help to solve. He learns of some examples of customers both large and small who have put WAN optimisation into practice, and finds out why Riverbed Technology believes an appliance-based approach to WAN optimisation makes the most sense.

In Part 2: Mark and Jon discuss the kinds of levels of improvement companies might experience when rolling out WAN optimisation, then talk in more detail about the role of WAN optimisation when it comes to virtualisation, cloud computing, disaster recovery and backup. Finally, Jason asks the interviewees to gaze into their crystal balls and say what they believe the future might hold for enterprise networking in general and WAN optimisation in particular.
