This is one of the best bookcases I have ever seen - well technically, it's a book porcupine. Holly Palmer's book porcupine has 18 sections in various sizes for holding your favourite books. When a book is removed, the fluorescent compartment behind it is revealed, the concept behind the piece is 'negative spaces' - the book's negative representations are made permanent in the structure of the unit.

I'm not sure if it comes in any other colours, and I agree that it does look a bit messy. Personally I would like one in gold and marble effect, but I'm a bit tacky - actually I'm more verging on Elton John territory tacky! :¬D

Looks like a good idea.

Are there any other colours?

My only possibly negative comment is that it looks a bit untidy making it possibly suitable for a child or teenagers bedroom
