Can you create something out of the box – thinking from inside the box? Here’s a great chance to strain your right brain and hone your imaginative minds.
British Designers NoChintz in collaboration with 100% Design London and eskimo creative have launched a design competition, ‘the Box Project’.
In the competition, participants will be asked to take up the challenge to create something out of a flat packed 2mx2mx2m box with x2 pivoting walls, a 2mx2m raised floor and a 240 volts power supply. There is even a range of furniture from ABR, which is optional.
The challenges include creativity with the materials used, giving importance to recycling and green trend, within a minimum budget. Think creative, functional and sustainable. Be innovative and original, with inspiring designs! Most important of all, have fun!
The competition has no submission fee and invites North West professional, post graduate and students, who want to show up their creativity in design and can spend a little and create a lot.
Post selection, the 15 finalists will be allowed to display their submissions/entries in the Box Project zone at 100% Design London, the UK's leading architecture and design event showcasing almost everything for the modern building and interior, being held from 24 - 27 September 2009 at Earls Court, London.
The winning design will be further built and previewed at 100% design. The winner will also get transport to London and accommodation plus a 3 month work placement with NoChintz.
So, if you're a creative based in the North West, don't miss this opportunity to have your work profiled on an international platform at this year’s 100% design show in London. Last date of submission of your entries is midnight Friday 31st July. For more details log on to http://www.theboxproject.co.uk
