The company claims it has invested 20,000 “man hours” and €1 million of hard cash in the new product. It says it has already recruited 300 beta testers from 28 countries and created €400,000 in pre-release revenue.
“The Google generation wants more flexibility from their applications,” said Biro, “but they still want to run stable computing environments. As a result, a hybrid approach to open source – where it can co-exist with proprietary platforms – will be an important step towards flexible IT.”
In its native Hungary Sense/Net is responsible for high-profile websites including E.ON, the National Bank and the Prime Minister’s Office. It has managed the video content for the website of Hungary’s first ever reality TV show, The Bar, as well as the Hungarian series of Big Brother.
In the open source ECM space this blog has also covered Nuxeo in the past. Sense/Net, meanwhile, can be found here.
