The next copy of CBR will be a special issue celebrating the innovative use of IT. As part of this we are looking to highlight the most innovative recent projects in the IT industry, as chosen by CBR's editorial team.
One of the categories is open source, and while we have the details of a number of deployment projects that we have identified in the last year, we are also looking for nominations to make sure nothing has slipped through the net.
The full details of the Innovative IT report are here but essentially we are looking for projects rolled out over the course of the last year that have demonstrated innovation in the way that they enhance business or employee productivity.
As a UK-based publication we are interested in highlighting UK success stories, but if innovation is happening in San Francisco, Moscow or Timbuktu we would like to hear about it. Each nomination will be judged on its individual merits (although please note that the editorial team's decision as to which projects to include is final).
Preference will be given to innovative projects that were also shown to deliver measurable ROI, came in under time and/or under budget, and affected business or personal productivity.
To clarify, we are looking for projects that involve the innovative deployment of open source software, rather than innovative open source software development projects, although if there are examples of end user organizations using open source development practices within their IT departments, that would also be of interest.
So if you know or are involved in any deployment projects that fit the bill please let us know sooner rather than later by posting a comment below (the comments will not be made active but will reach my inbox).
Cheers
Matthew
